On the pedestal these words appear... ‘My name is Ozymandias, King of Kings; Look on my works, ye Mighty, and despair!’   With every passing epoch, age and era, Shelley’s salutary ode on the short-lived nature of political power only becomes more apposite. Eventually, the grandstand­ing, the hubris and sense of entitlement meet their inevitable demise and those that were full of it are relegated to the history books (or starker still, the ‘lone and level sands’.) It seems curious that the ‘international community’ has not made more of the ends of (ex-presidents) Bouteflika and al-Bashir, of Algeria and Sudan,...
