Thales Spat ‘hurting U.S. interests’

The ongoing investigation by the U.S. State Department into whether Thales incorporated ITAR-controlled parts into a satellite sold to the Chinese military threatens to impact on the satellite industry supply chain, according to sources. On 9 February, news agency Reuters reported that the State Department had told Thales that in the absence of greater cooperation with the inquiry into the matter, U.S. suppliers may be denied licences for export to the French company.
