Stacey heads up Deloitte’s Global Export Control Services practice, and the Customs & Global Trade business in EMEA. Stacey has 15 years’ experience in advising clients on international trade matters and is a renowned expert in the field of export controls.
Stacey started her career in the U.S. – she is a qualified U.S. customs broker – before specialising in export controls. She has spent the last 12 years in Europe, establishing the first export control consulting business within the Big 4 and working with clients to design, develop and implement global trade compliance reviews, covering customs, export controls, import management, and supply chain security procedures. She has worked on a variety of projects over a vast range of industries (including telecoms, chemicals, aerospace and defence, oil and gas and financial services) for a wide number of clients. Her project experience includes implementing SAP GTS for a global A&D company; managing a global trade compliance outsourcing contract for a high-tech company; developing the trade compliance function at a global conglomerate; leading an independent global ITAR audit under a consent agreement; developing an e-learning programme and delivering a large-scale classification project for a multinational oil & gas company.
Stacey has extensive experience in dealing with the authorities in the EU on driving changes to policy and regulation, particularly in the field of classification and licensing. Stacey also has in-depth knowledge of encryption-related controls and has led significant lobbying efforts in this field. She is a frequent speaker on this topic at a number of export control conferences around the world.
In 2008, Stacey was awarded Professional Woman of the Future by the Woman of the Future Awards and Real Business magazine and was named one of the UK’s ‘35 Women Under 35’ by Management Today.
Stacey earned a B.A degree with Honours in Export Management and European Languages from Napier University, Edinburgh, Scotland.Back
