Patrick Murphy is a partner, based in the London office, specialising in shipping and commodity trading disputes and general international commercial arbitration and litigation. He also advises international traders and businesses in respect of the application of sanctions regimes against Iran and the implications for their continued operation.
Patrick has extensive experience of litigating and arbitrating in the UAE courts, Dubai arbitrations and international arbitrations under DIAC, LCIA, UNCITRAL, ICC and LMAA rules in respect of commercial agency, telecoms, oil and gas, commodities and investment disputes.
Patrick regularly advises shipowners, charterers and traders in a wide range of charterparty, sale of goods, and commodity disputes. He is a regular presenter at events concerning shipping law, including lecturing on laytime and demurrage matters.
