Tristan Grimmer is a partner in the International Trade Team of Baker McKenzie’s London office. He has been a member of the team since March 2006, having previously trained with the firm (part of his training being spent in the firm’s Chicago office).
As a member of the International Trade Team, he specialises in advising clients on export controls, trade sanctions, and anti-bribery and corruption laws, with a particular focus on providing clients with day-to-day compliance advice, advice on the development and implementation of compliance programmes, and managing investigations (both internal and regulator-facing). He has assisted numerous clients with the drafting and submission of voluntary disclosures to regulators.
His client base is made up of FTSE 100 and 250 companies, along with other multinationals, from a variety of sectors, including oil and gas, aerospace and defence, and financial services (including investment banks and insurers). Tristan has had particular experience in counselling companies through multiple trade sanctions crises, including the introduction and expansion of sanctions regarding Iran, Syria and Russia.
