EU amends Iraq sanctions

The EU Council has updated its restrictive measures on economic and financial relations with Iraq. New Commission Implementing Regulation (EU) 2018/1218, of 6 September, implements a decision by the United Nations Security Council on 28 August to remove one entity, Taji Industrial Complex, from the list of individuals and entities of the previous government of Iraq (as at 22 May 2003) subject to an asset freeze. The new regulation thus updates the list of sanctioned entities and individuals in Annex III to Regulation (EC) No 1210/2003.
