Glen Kelley is a partner in the New York office of Jacobson Burton Kelley. Glen has over 15 years of experience advising U.S. and non-U.S. companies and financial institutions on matters involving economic and financial sanctions, export controls, anti-bribery, anti-terrorism and anti-money laundering laws, and national security-based laws.

Glen has served as an Attorney Adviser at the U.S. Department of State. Prior to joining Jacobson Burton Kelley, he was the chair of the regional leaders of the global sanctions and trade group of a leading international law firm.

Clients appreciate Glen’s depth and breadth of experience, comprehensive knowledge of sanctions and trade controls, and ability to explain even the most complex regulations clearly.

Glen has extensive experience with Office of Foreign Assets Control (‘OFAC’) sanctions, secondary (extraterritorial) U.S. sanctions administered by the Department of State, the FCPA and other anti-bribery laws, the Export Administration Regulations (‘EAR’), the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (‘ITAR’), the Bank Secrecy Act, the USA Patriot Act and related regulations.

Glen represents clients across a broad range of business sectors in transactional and compliance matters, and licensing and negotiations with U.S. government agencies related to these laws and regulations. In many matters he works closely with EU and other non-U.S. trade law counsel to provide coordinated advice to clients.

Glen maintains contact with U.S. government officials responsible for sanctions and trade controls in the State, Treasury and Commerce Departments and in the White House.

He is a member of the steering committee of the American Bar Association Committee on Export Controls and Economic Sanctions, and is included in the Who’s Who Legal directory of trade and customs lawyers.
