Adrienne Braumiller, Braumiller Law Group PLLC

Adrienne Braumiller

Adrienne Braumiller is the founder of Braumiller Law Group PLLC (‘BLG’). With more than 25 years of experience, she is widely recognised as a leading authority in Customs and international trade law.

Adrienne has been involved in every aspect of import and export compliance, from developing compliance programmes to conducting audits and assessments, representing clients under investigation, preparing voluntary disclosures, preparing classification requests and licences, analysing whether specific transactions should be pursued, providing tailored training on specific topics, addressing penalty assessments, and serving as an expert witness in trade cases.

She is a frequent speaker at industry and government-sponsored conferences, such as those hosted by the American Association of Exporters and Importers, and the Department of Energy’s International Nonproliferation Export Control Program, among others.

Her firm has won numerous awards, a testament to her dedication and client commitment, including being named by WorldECR in 2015 as Highly Commended as the Best Export Control Law Firm of the Year, and more recently by Globe Business Media Group based in London (Lexology) as the exclusive winner of the International Trade Law category for Texas of the Client Choice Awards 2017.  She has also been recognised by Chambers and Partners in the categories of both USA and Global, 2015-2018.

Adrienne has held numerous leadership roles over the years, including serving as the President of the Organization of Women in International Trade at local and national levels. She is currently the Regional Chair of the Texas Chapter of the World Law Alliance and is the firm’s representative to the Association of Trade Compliance Professionals, as BLG is the only law firm in the country selected to co-sponsor ATCP’s activities.

Adrienne currently serves on the Regulations and Procedures Technical Advisory Committee (‘RPTAC’), one of seven Technical Advisory Committees that works closely with the Department of Commerce’s Bureau of Industry and Security (BIS). She was originally appointed in 2012 by Acting Secretary of Commerce Rebecca Bank.  The committee functions solely as an advisory body and reports to the Assistant Secretary for Export Administration, BIS, US Department of Commerce. In this role, Adrienne works with the committee to provide guidance on the development and revision of the Export Administration Regulations.

In January 2007, and again in December 2008, US Secretary of the Treasury Henry Paulson, Jr., and Secretary of Homeland Security Michael Chertoff appointed Adrienne to serve two consecutive two-year terms on the Departmental Advisory Committee on Commercial Operations of Customs and Border Protection (‘COAC’).

Adrienne is licensed to practise in Washington, D.C., the State of Texas, the United States District Court of Texas for the Northern District, and the United States Court of International Trade.
