Cyndee is a Canadian lawyer with a Canadian LL.B. degree, U.S. J.D. degree and a masters of laws in international trade and competition law (LL.M. degree). Cyndee is the founder of LexSage Professional Corporation, a boutique international trade and sales tax law firm in Toronto, Ontario.
Cyndee’s practice includes export controls, brokering rules, economic sanctions, trade restrictions, asset-freezes and customs laws. She regularly advises domestic and international clients on how to comply with Canadian laws, including the Export and Import Permits Act, the Special Economic Measure Act, the United Nations Act, Canada’s Magnitsky law, etc. Cyndee has published 100 Tips for SMBs: How to Avoid Costly Mistakes when Exporting Goods from Canada. Cyndee is a regular speaker on Canada’s export laws and is a sessional law professor at the University of Windsor School of law and teaches a program on compliance.
Cyndee was appointed to the NAFTA Chapter 19 Roster by the government of Canada in 2018. Cyndee was twice appointed by Canada’s Minister of Justice to the Judicial Advisory Committee for the Tax Court of Canada.
