Prof. Dr. Philip Haellmigk, LL.M. is the founder and head of boutique law firm HAELLMIGK in Munich (Germany), specialising in foreign trade, export control, compliance and commercial law.
Philip is admitted both as a German lawyer and as a solicitor (England & Wales). He also holds a degree in French law (Licencié en Droit). Further, Philip is a professor of public law at FOM University.
Philip has been advising companies from all industries for more than 10 years on regulatory and contractual aspects of foreign trade and export control law. He is named a leading expert in these fields of law (i.e., JUVE Handbook 2017/2018: ‘frequently recommended’, ‘distinguished expert’).
Philip advises on national, European as well as international export control regimes, in particular US export controls and US embargoes. He advises on classification and licensing procedures, the set-up of internal compliance programmes, sanctions and embargoes as well as internal export control audits. Further, Philip represents his clients in external investigations and proceedings. In addition, he provides contractual advice on export and supply agreements.
Philip is fluent in English, French and German. He also speaks Spanish and Italian and has a basic knowledge of Mandarin.
Philip is a frequent contributor to legal and business publications and regularly speaks at national and international conferences.
