Susannah specialises in financial crime compliance, regulatory and investigations work. She advises corporates, financial institutions and professional services firms in connection with sanctions, anti-money laundering, corruption, fraud and related issues, both contentious and non-contentious.

Susannah was appointed as one of the UK’s first anti-corruption monitors for the purposes of Oxford University Press’s settlement with the World Bank and the UK Serious Fraud Office.  Susannah speaks and publishes widely on sanctions, anti-money laundering and anti-corruption sanctions topics.  She is a member of the UK Law Society’s Money Laundering Task Force, the City of London Law Society Corporate Crime Committee, and the ICC UK Corporate Responsibility and Anti-Corruption Committee.  Susannah is a consultant editor of the Lloyds Law Reports: Financial Crime series.  In April 2014, Global Investigations Review named Susannah in their list of ‘40 Under 40 – the world’s leading investigations specialists’.

Susannah’s experience includes advising a number of international energy and extractive companies and global financial institutions in respect of all aspects of financial crime compliance, including sanctions (e.g., in relation to compliance policies, due diligence, sanctions licensing, internal and external investigations).  She has advised extensively on the sanctions regimes applicable in relation to Russia/Ukraine, Iran, Syria and Libya, amongst others.
